A Registered Polysomnographic Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of the clinical director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee. A Registered Polysomnographic Technician can provide supervision to Polysomnographic Trainee and/or Polysomnographic Tech. High School graduate or GED equivalent required. Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associates degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR will have completed a polysomnography program of less than one year duration, associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited education facility OR possess equivalent experience and documented proficiency in all competencies. A minimum of 6 months of experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies or RRT with 1 year experience in sleep studies. Current AHA, BLS certification. Registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) by BRBT or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC, current licensure from the Composite State Board of Georgia and must be registered as an RPSGT within one (1) year of hire. Must demonstrate effective written and spoken communication skills, appropriate social skills, and the ability to follow directions. Must possess good spelling skills.
