Job Description

Provides patient care under direction of professional registered nurse or licensed practical nurse for assigned patient(s) in one or more patient care departments. Responsible for assisting with both clinical and clerical duties, for assisting the nursing staff in delivery of quality care to a varied patient population, for coordinating communications occurring at the Nurses' Station while assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and the provision of safety assigned to patients. Is responsible for providing customer service to patient's families, visitors, physicians, co-workers, and other medical and non-medical personnel and supports the organizations mission, vision, and values.


High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Program, preferred.


Ability to successfully complete orientation and ongoing required competencies and certifications.


Minimum of one (1) year work experience.

Ability to communicate effectively.


Physically capable with adequate physical coordination to perform job functions. Mentally alert and emotionally stable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: May be subject to personal injury/ muscular strain, be exposed to communicable diseases/infections, be subject to radiation exposure, subject to punctures, cuts, and electrical shock; subject to high stress levels, possible verbal and physical abuse, be exposed to disagreeable odors and be exposed to needles and sharp objects.
