Is responsible for delivering quality nursing care to a varied patient population (infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric);
Observing and documenting patient response to care;
Provide guidance and assistance to RN's, LPN's, non-licensed staff in acute care setting;
Is accountable for the caliber of patient care performed by her/himself and those under his/her supervision;
Promotes and coordinates team work with physicians and associates;
Interacts effectively with other departments;
Receives supervision from Unit Manager, Charge Nurse, and/or the Assistant Vice President of Patient Care Services in the acute care setting;
Provides customer service to patients' families, visitors, physicians, co-workers, and other medical and non-medical persons.
II. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Must be dependable; exhibit professionalism; have integrity; be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; possess problem solving skills; demonstrates an excellent level of patient care delivery; possess knowledge to interpret and follow instructions; able to lift/move patients; ability to use standard emergency nursing equipment and supplies; able to relate to various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds; accept alternatives to the usually accepted norms without being judgmental; be in good general health; possess audio and visual acuity to detect change in patient's condition; complete pre-employment and annual physical requirements (including alcohol and drug screens). Demonstrates working knowledge of CPOE.
III. Working Conditions:
Physically capable with adequate physical coordination to perform job functions. Mentally alert and emotionally stable. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, possible verbal or physical abuse, possible exposure to radiation or hazardous materials, possible physical injury due to moving and positioning patients, possible professional liability due to current public consciousness.
Maintain current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. Be certified to perform CPR/ ACLS as directed by Department Manager. Completes annual competency requirements with a score of 90 or greater.
Maintain accuracy in the transcription of physician orders; render individualized nursing care to infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Practice Standard Precautions for Infection Control; adhere to safety policies and procedures; attend mandatory in-services; maintain helpful, caring attitudes that are perceived as courtesy and cheerful. Adhere to the TRMC Compliance program, Code of Conduct and TRMC policies and procedures, HIPAA Privacy and Security Initiatives.
