The C.N.A is responsible for assisting with both clinical and clerical duties on the nursing unit. Responsible for assisting the professional staff in delivery of quality care in a safe manner to a varied resident population, responsible for coordinating communications occurring at the Nurse's Station while assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care and the provision of safety assigned to patients. Provides customer service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, coworkers, and other medical and non-medical persons.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Be dependable, exhibit professionalism, have integrity, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Possess good judgment in determining when to respond to inquiries or refer questions to others, have organizational skills, adapt to changes, and ability to set priorities. Maintains helpful caring attitude and be courteous and cheerful when relating to all other associates and customers. Ability to handle stress.
Working Conditions: Physically capable with adequate physical coordination to perform job functions. Mentally alert and emotionally stable. May be subject to personal injury/muscular strain, subject to high stress levels, possible verbal and physical abuse, and be exposed to disagreeable odors. Must be flexible in work schedule.
Qualifications: Must have an active CNA certification and be registered with the state, able to perform CPR, must have the ability to handle and operate equipment required and complete department forms correctly.
